Soul Haus

A lil’ retro, a lil’ kitch and a whole lotta’ cool: Soul Haus offers clothing and gifts with a story. Located in an old mop factory, the EZE Mop Shopping District is in the Historic Uptown neighborhood, known by locals as “Restaurant Row”. A family-owned and operated store, Soul Haus carries small and independent label clothing, cool shirts and unique gifts – and the best greeting cards in town. Opened in 1999 as one of Denver’s first fashion houses to offer small-tag, Denver-made and independent labels (Read: House with Soul) – Soul Haus’s mission has stayed the same: do business honestly and ethically, while serving our community. Soul Haus donates a percentage from every single item to a local charitable organization -and has- since our Grand Opening all those many years ago. We are also a Certified Green business and work with designers who embrace environmentally responsible practices. But at the end of the day, it’s all about our customers. We will never be one of those hip lifestyle boutiques who presume to tell you how to dress or who to be. We understand that people who visit Soul Haus already know who they are and are quite confident in the story they want to tell –and it is how we are able to proudly boast- that we absolutely have the coolest customers in town.

Established in 1999.
When Soul Haus originally opened its doors on 13th avenue in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, it was solely a Men’s boutique. At the time the block was full of the smell of vegan goodies, spray paint and homeless people. It was awesome! Alas, the small 800 sq ft boutique outgrew its walls and so, in the summer of 2009, we moved into the ol’ EZE Mop Building in the historic Uptown neighborhood, known by locals as “restaurant row”. After upcycling every piece of vintage mop goodness we could find in the old mop factory, the new space – three times it’s old size – allowed more room for gifts, jewelry and even women’s dresses. The shop’s owner, Chris, started to bring in some of his favorite finds too, including old radios, vintage bar sets and other cool collectibles that he dubs “man-tiques”. In its new and permanent home, Soul Haus now specializes in gifts with a story – some vintage, some new – and has truly become a one-stop shop for you or the modern man and women in your life.

Chris has followed in the footsteps of his entrepreneur Father and Grandfather, in owning and operating his own business. Even as kid, he aspired to be that old guy sweeping the stoop, in front of the local general store. Yep’, just like Mr. Hooper, only you know – with cooler shoes.

When not seated on a bar stool next to a customer at the Soul Haus cashwrap, Chris is usually out and about in his ’51 Shoebox Ford, hunting for that perfect find (and eating popsicles).
