Howard was born an entrepreneur; he began selling bags of candy for a five-cent profit at the age of eight. By 1967, he started a natural foods business out of the kitchen in his home, mixing natural ingredients into what he called “chunks o’ health.” This grew into what became Nature’s Best distribution company. For the last 36 years, he has owned and operated Rainbow Acres Natural Foods, which is the largest independently owned natural food store in the Los Angeles area.

Rainbow Acres is very thankful to be able to service our community. We are doing everything we can in to insure your safest possible shopping experience. Between encouraging safe distances for our customers, promoting the use of masks while shopping and offering gloves for your shopping experience, we are continuously cleaning and stocking our store. The Juice Bar and Deli are still operating with our famous Juices/Smoothies. The Daily Menu at the hot bar is available everyday. We have adjusted our hours slightly in order to accommodate an early hour for customers that are 60 years young and up (please check for hours on website). We have started curbside pick up service as well (curbside@rainbowacresca.com) and are offering special delicious family meals for pick up every Friday (serves 4 for $30). Rainbow Acres has been a presence in our community for over 40 years 🙂 and we are committed to continue to grow and enlighten the wider community in our great city of Los Angeles.
