Macelleria Bexley

Macelleria has been many years in the making, it is our commitment to providing fresh, natural, and sustainable local meats and Italian products to the East side of Columbus.

Established in 2020.
Fostered in New York, Perfected in Italy, Established in Bexley. The story starts with the Chef and owner, Phillip Clary growing up in Columbus with a love for the art and culture of food. After graduating from The Ohio State University, he followed his passion to restaurants in the south to Charleston, SC. and eventually to Europe and New York. Along this journey he learned the craft of the Slow Food Movement – a process that embraces, fresh, local, and sustainable traditional cooking methods. With a passionate for sustainability, quality, and the health of the meats we eat, he returned to the US to master his craft in New York City at The International Culinary Center, free-lanced at Epicurious, worked directly with Mario Batali at Lupa Osteria and then started a family back in Central Ohio where years of planning, butchering, and sausage curating became the reality known as Macelleria.

Phillip is the Chef, Owner & Visionary of Macelleria. His culinary journey started here in Ohio, 25 years ago where he first fell in love with the art and culture of food as cook here in Columbus. After graduating from The Ohio State University he following his passion and moved to the south to Charleston, SC. and eventually to Europe. This is where he learned the craft of the Slow Food Movement – a process that embraces, fresh, local, traditional cooking methods. He became more passionate for sustainability, quality, and the health of the meats we eat. He returned to the US to master his craft at The International Culinary Center in New York City.
