Larrabee’s Furniture + Design is a third generation Colorado retailer, founded in 1962 in Boulder, CO by Lee Larrabee. In 1974, Scott and Carolyn Larrabee opened Northern Colorado’s largest gallery in Ft. Collins, CO. 51 years of life in furniture has given the Larrabee’s an eye for beauty, an appreciation for family, and an utter insistence on quality.

Scott Larrabee is a third generation furniture retailer. A born entrepreneur, Scott found that small business ownership was the perfect outlet for what many have noted as his “unbridled energy.” Starting in 1962 at age 12, Scott worked in his father’s furniture store after school and during the summer. A sign of things to come, he also started multiple side businesses as a teen while playing sports and running deliveries for the store. Scott sold mattresses to put himself through college at Colorado State University, where he studied Business & Marketing. Recruiting his father and best friend, Lee, out of retirement, Scott opened his first furniture store on Mountain Avenue in 1974. A few years later, Scott expanded his thriving business into the historic JC Penney building on College Avenue.
