Located on the corner of Center and Union Street in downtown Santa Cruz, Christie Family Dentistry was established by Dr. William B. Christie in 1973. The practice occupies a Santa Cruz historic building built in 1942 in the Streamline Moderne architectural style. Formerly known as Dr. Nelson’s dental office from 1942-1973. From 1973-2013, known as William B. Christie Family Dentistry, Dr. William Christie was the sole practitioner in his office. In 2013, Dr. William Christie was joined by his son, Dr. Mark Christie. Now known as Christie Family Dentistry, the practice continues to provide comfortable dental care to patients in a modern dental setting utilizing digital x-rays, digital charting, computers in each operatory, all-ceramic crown options, amalgam-free filling alternatives, and dental implants.

Dr. Mark was born and raised in Santa Cruz, and is thrilled to continue practicing in the same location his father started out in back in 1973. Dr. Mark attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology, followed by a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Technical Studies before attending University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. The dental office occupies a unique and historic location in downtown Santa Cruz across from Luma yoga studio and Goodwill. The dental building was designed and completed in 1942 by Dr. Nelson in the
“Streamline Moderne” (Art Deco) style.
