Established in 1981.
Owner and founder Vardy Shtein began apprenticing to master craftsmen in his native Estonia, working first with silver, advancing to gold and platinum and then to master gem setting. To escape Communist oppression, he immigrated to the U.S. with his wife, two young children, $500 and a talent for jewelry making. Once settled in California, he opened a shop doing repairs for other jewelers, but as his creative designs captured the attention of the local community, it was only natural for him to open Vardy’s Jewelers. Vardy is a master goldsmith in the European tradition, working more than 3 decades in Cupertino alongside his grown children and loyal staff, who share his passion for and knowledge of fine jewelry. His daughter, Fanya, has a eye for style and new designs. His son, Misha, works behind the bench designing jewelry using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D wax printing before handcrafting custom designs. Vardy’s is a family business that treats customers as extended family.

Vardy takes pride in his family-run store with old fashion principles, an extraordinary selection of styles and the best value in the industry.

Vardy began his career working as an apprentice to master jewelers in Estonia while attending University to study electrical engineering. He fell in love with jewelry making, and after 11 years of designing in Europe, immigrated to the United States to achieve the American dream. He arrived in this country with his family and only $500 to his name and began making repairs for jewelers in the area. His impeccable work and technical ability soon caught the eye of more discerning jewelers, and before long he possessed the funds and the confidence to establish his own store. Vardy’s Jewelers opened in Cupertino in 1981.
