Established in 1979.
In 1933 founder John Piazza Senior left his home in Trabia, the Palermo region of Sicily, to come to the United States for a better life. Mr. Piazza had a dream of one day owning his own natural foods market. After he returned from WWII in 1945 he got into the grocery business. Several years later in 1979 he started his own market where he achieved his dream of a place where his customers could get local organic produce and top quality natural foods. He put a traditional Italian spin on a modern food market, making Piazza’s the unique grocery store that it is today.
