The first Mona Lisa Restaurant was established in 1956 in downtown San Diego by Grandfather Stefano Brunetto. Since then, Mona Lisa has become an institution for Italian food and culture in the Little Italy area. Whether you are walking through our authentic Italian deli or dining in our family Italian restaurant, we welcome you to our family’s tradition.

Stefano Brunetto, a San Diego native, was born in 1979 at mercy hospital. Stefano spent most of his childhood traveling to exotic foreign locations and developed a strong passion for cooking, language and culture. Surfing naturally became a passion for him, blending traveling and nature. Stefano is currently, a board of director for the Food & Beverage Association, and is the manager of the Mona Lisa Restaurant.
