Brothers Scott Fenton Parker and Keith MacLaren Parker started Fenton MacLaren in 1982. They were working their way through Cal and running a store together was ideal — one brother could go to class while the other worked in the store. The original store was on College Ave. in Rockridge and at first it only featured refinished 20’s era vintage furniture. Now Fenton MacLaren is located in Berkeley and only sells new furniture. Years of restoring vintage furniture gave Keith and Scott extensive knowledge about furniture construction. They’ve used this knowledge to carefully select new furniture lines that offer superior value. Keith and Scott are still hands-on owners (who don’t have to leave for classes anymore!) and their wives Kathy and Mara Lee have joined them in the business.
