Cindy’s parents opened Weeks’ Department Store in 1944 in the small town of Saint George, SC, fifty miles inland from Charleston. Cindy recalls playing «store» with imaginary customers (and a real cash register) at Weeks’ Department Store. Fast forward several decades, and she is still carrying on her family’s tradition on State Street in Charleston with her very own store, ellington. Weeks’ Department Store in Saint George is celebrating its seventy-sixth year of business in 2020.
