Established in 1936.
Mr. Emanuel Blaugrund, founder of American Furniture Company, came to Albuquerque in the 1930’s with hopes of establishing a high-quality, first-class furniture store; one he would be proud of; one offering value to customers at all price levels. He achieved his goal in 1936 when the first American Home store was opened at 212 Central Avenue SW. Fourteen years later, a larger store was built on 4th Street NW. Continued growth created a need for more space. In 1968 the flagship store was built and still stands today on the corner of Menaul and Carlisle. Since then, American Home has expanded to five stores across New Mexico. American Furniture recognizes the importance of supporting community issues and organizations.
