The best entrepreneurial stories begin with a personal moment of inspiration. For Sam Unruh, it was a desire to impress his significant other with a piece of furniture he’d designed, crafted and assembled by hand in his workshop. That “significant other” went to become Mrs. Unruh. And that “workshop” has grown into Kansas City’s premiere boutique furniture line. In 2015 Unruh embarked on a remarkable journey into a 100-year-old historic church located in Midtown, Kansas City. The building had been abandoned for several years and Unruh knew it would be a magical space to build and showcase their furniture.
