Starling Chevrolet was founded in Kissimmee, FL in 1958 by Carroll Starling, who moved from Ocala, FL and brought his wife, Grace, and his three sons and daughter, Carroll, Jr., Bruce, Alan and Susan. At the time, Kissimmee, FL was very much a small town as Walt Disney had yet to make his dream of Walt Disney World a reality. Unfortunately just a few years later Carroll died from a heart attack while mowing the lawn on a Sunday morning in May, and Alan, his youngest son who had just got home from serving in the Army, stepped in to run the business. Over the last fifty years he grew the business from a small Chevrolet store selling less than 100 cars a year to a group of dealerships selling 6000 vehicles a year. The core of our business has to always give our guests more for less – more value, more convenience, more kindness, for less time, less money, and less hassle. Starling Chevrolet remains a family business to this day, with Walker Starling at the helm.
Walker Starling is the dealer and manager of Starling Chevrolet. He grew up in Central Florida, attending elementary school at St. John Vianney just a few miles north of Starling Chevrolet, and went to Lake Highland Preparatory School for high school. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University and Vanderbilt Law School, he began working at Starling Automotive and has managed multiple stores prior to relocating Starling Chevrolet from Kissimmee, FL to Orlando, FL. He is married to a New Zealander and has two wonderful young children.
