Plank&Grain makes furniture with character. That’s why we only use reclaimed lumber from around the Pacific Northwest. We know the term “reclaimed” gets thrown around a lot these days and that some companies go to great lengths to “distress” their new wood to look old. That’s not the case at Plank&Grain. We use predominately old-growth douglas fir planks (most over a hundred years old). We think the character of this wood needs very little improvement. We sand and finish each piece by hand, which lets the imperfections and scars of the lumber’s long history shine. All of our furniture is made by hand right here in Seattle and no two pieces are alike. We carry various sizes of tables, desks, benches, side tables and coffee tables in our showroom but we really love working with customers to create custom sizes to fit their specific needs. Whether its an extra small coffee table for a studio apartment or a 14 foot table for a conference room, we can create the exact piece you want.
Plank&Grain was started in 2014 by Erick Waldman, a designer who started making furniture in his free time. His past time passion soon became a full time job and Plank&Grain has been building quality custom reclaimed furniture ever since.
Erick W.
Business Owner
“In 2013, I bought some old reclaimed lumber to build a rustic 14 foot table for my office. I fell in love with the process of reclaiming the beautiful old wood being torn out of buildings all over our city and turning it into a carefully crafted piece of furniture. This project inspired me to start Plank&Grain Furniture and after 2 decades of working as a designer in front a computer screen I returned to my passion of woodworking. Major career changes can be scary, but over the last year and a half I’ve had the opportunity to make some really fun pieces of furniture for some really great people. These days I tend to be covered in sawdust, fingers full of splinters and sore muscles and I’ve never been happier!”Nenhum registo encontrado
