Established in 1984.
Granite Bakery has been owned and operated by the same family since 1984. Prior to that time, the bakery was owned by the welfare department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In years prior, the bakery was part of a small grocery store. Needless to say, the reputation has been established through generations.

Russ O.
Business Owner
Russ started baking when he was young. He was born in Salt Lake City, but spent most of his childhood living in Scotland. Upon returning to the United States he got a job working as a baker at a local shop. He learned the complete trade and provided for his family by working graveyard shifts baking. In the early 1980’s, Russ worked for Granite Bakery. In 1984 he made an offer to buy the business and became the owner. The products sold now are still made formulas and recipes created by Russ. He is famous for bringing the orange butter flake roll to Utah and his very own cinnamon knots are known across the state. Russ has included his entire family in the bakery business and is proud to have them working by his side.
