Melissa has been caring for, training and working with animals for most of her life! Before BARK! Melissa worked at both the Denver Zoo and the Minnesota Zoo training and caring for various animals. She volunteered for the Raptor Education Foundation before that. She also worked as a vet tech, caring for dogs, cats and birds, and assisting the vets in surgery. All the training she’s done has been based on positive reinforcement. She has also traveled to six continents researching and observing animals.She has one amazing German Shepherd mix named Cinnamon, who rescued Melissa in 2012 at BARK!
