Picture Framing, Paintings, Bespoke jewellery We specialise in 3 separate areas in the gallery. Firstly I handmake 18ct gold jewellery, as the co-owner of the business, I am a jewellery designer and a goldsmith, so it follows! All the jewellery is individually designed and made in a workshop on the premises using traditional techniques. I makes the jewellery under my company name of SG7 Jewellery and specialise in bespoke pieces made individually for clients in 18ct gold and gemstones, handmade wedding rings, engagement rings and so on. The second speciality is in Original paintings, we are one of a few independant art galleries in West Yorkshire and show works by local, national and international artists many of whom will take on commission work. The third area is in Picture framing, we have a large selection of bespoke moldings and mounts that we talk you through to help you enhance the look of your art work.

Established in 2004.
The business is a family run one. After retiring from teaching Anne wanted something to engross and occupy her brain and it has certainly done that. I had just returned from working as a goldsmith and designer in Italy to set up my own handmade jewellery business, so we combined forces and came up with Art of Gold. We began in 2004 in an already established art gallery but now the bespoke jewellery side of the business is as popular as the art side.

I am a trained jewellery designer and goldsmith, After graduating in jewellery design, I was fortunate to find a job in Italy, on Lake Garda, working for a Master goldsmith who was a hard taskmaster and a real perfectionist, it was a huge learning curve because most of the training in this country is in silversmithing, but I had to learn quickly so I did. I set up my jewellery company in 2004 when I returned to the UK. The best part of my job is watching someone’s face when I open the jewellery box and show them their pendant or wedding ring or whatever, and they see it for the first time. I like to think of my designs out there, being worn and becoming family heirlooms. That’s the beauty of handmade jewellery, there is only ever one of each piece.
