Dozen was started as a holiday cookie pop-up business that would exist for the last three months of 2009. Renting commercial kitchen space and shuttling everything around in a Subaru station wagon, owner/baker Claire Meneely figured a seasonal business would be a good way to test the waters and see if Nashville was interested in organic, local baking. Thanks to strong word-of-mouth popularity, some good press, finding some great help, and a certain baker falling in love with her own hometown, Dozen continues to this day.
