A 2nd generation grocer and member of Compare Foods’ founding family, Omar has been involved in Compare Foods since he was in high school, working in the dairy, deli, meat, and front end of his family’s stores in New York. In 2009, he moved to Charlotte to run the Compare Foods on Arrowood Road and soon thereafter, with his brother Frank, opened a second store in the neighborhood. Omar is very involved in the community, appointed by Charlotte’s Mayor to the Immigrant Integration Task Foce and serving as a Director of the Carolina Food Industry Council and North Carolia Retail Merchant’s Association.
