Custom made jewelry of gold and platinum using fine diamonds and gems. Most of our gems are custom cut by Richard Homer, although we do have access to many other cutters as well. We are primarily Internet only and are not set up to handle walk in traffic. We can be found at www.HighPerformanceDiamonds.com and our sister website www.WinkCZ.com where we use custom cut cubic zirconium to make the same high quality jewelry that we make for our diamonds and gems.

Winfield’s was founded in 1979 in downtown Boise, Idaho. Our original store was closed in 1986 and reincarnated in 1988 in the Hoff Building where we stayed until October 2009. By then our business was largely Internet based and we decided to go Internet only at that time. We still have several loyal clients here in Boise, but approximately 98% of our business is in other states and countries now, as the Internet has made us a global company.

Wink has been in the jewelry business since 1970 when he bought his first gemstone for a girlfriend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Within days he was buying & selling gems and his lifelong love affair and study of gemology was started. Wink graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in 1975, and has been a proud member of the trade ever since. Wink is a renowned expert on the subject of diamond cut quality and, more importantly, for being able to explain it in an easy and interesting way. He loves to share his knowledge of diamonds and his first love of extraordinary colored stones continues to this day.

Wink is a part-time kayaker and full-time grandfather who takes great joy in working with people to create heirloom quality jewelry that will be enjoyed for generations. He enjoys a reputation as “the expert you can trust,” providing diamonds, gems and jewelry whose beauty will surpass your wildest dreams.
