Santa Cruz Radio & TV has been serving Santa Cruz County’s Electronics’ needs since 1943. Family owned and operated by Greg Windt, Frank Windt and Mark Bechtold, Santa Cruz Radio & TV is your one-stop shop for your new home theater and satellite TV installation. The name Windt has been synonymous with TV since the early days of television when Frank Windt Sr. took his military electronics’ training and applied it to Radio and TV repair in Santa Cruz. He later trained his son and grandson (current owners Frank Jr. and Greg) in the family business. As they both possess analytical skills and have always excelled at problem-solving, they were able to pick up the electronics business quite easily. It seems electronics troubleshooting was simply “in the genes.” Operating under the previous name Windt TV, the family has moved the business from Frank Sr.’s garage in the 50’s to it’s current location at 1515 Soquel Ave at Frederick St. across from Mackenzie’s Chocolates.

I am a 3rd generation electronics’ technician with over 25 years of experience in audio and video. I am also proficient in custom design and installation of home theater and satellite systems.

In 2000, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Business Administration / Management Information Systems (MIS). This degree has helped me recognize the importance of planning for future changes in our industry, as well as the everyday operation of the business.

The emphasis in information systems gave me the skills to design and maintain our store’s relational database, invoicing system, website, as well as custom remote control programming for RTI and Universal products.

I am passionate about my work and am very meticulous. Whether I’m repairing a flat panel TV, restoring a vintage audio receiver or installing a new home theater, I take every precaution to protect the customer’s equipment or home and treat every item as if it were my own.
