The Nest is a clean, well-organized vintage urban boutique filled with furniture, clothing, decor and much more. Our passion is for mid-century modern items, but we don’t like to be limited, so we carry anything that catches our eye. In addition to our fun and diverse selection of vintage and up-cycled furniture and clothing, don’t be surprised to find collectible bar and tableware, record players along with your favorite bands on vinyl, old school gossip magazines and newspapers, cowboy boots, costumes for nearly any occasion, original artwork and pretty much anything else we come across that has a story, character, a sense of humor, or is just plain awesome. If you’re a thrift store enthusiast, The Nest is a dream for you. If you love quirky, unique treasures but don’t have the time or patience to meticulously sift through the racks at the thrift store, stop in and peruse our wares! We promise you won’t spend all of your time looking at junk, feel like you need to shower afterwards or break the bank on items that go for a heck of a lot more online!
Established in 2009.
Reno-native Tessa Dee Miller began her secondhand store adventures at the ripe old age of 22 after graduating from Santa Clara University. After moving back home, she went out on a limb and purchased Budget Used Furniture in Sparks with the encouragement of her dad. After four years of learning the ropes of running a successful secondhand store, she decided to expand and opened up The Nest in Reno to showcase her love of unique vintage pieces that have character! She celebrates 10 years at The Nest and 14 years in the business in total this fall.Tessa M.
Business Owner
Fixer-upper and lover of things old and interesting, Reno enthusiast and owner of The Nest: I’m Tessa Dee Miller, and I’m pleased to meet you.
I am passionate to the core about what I do. I don’t see it as just a job: it’s the way that I live and the lens through which I see the world. When you walk into my store, you are essentially walking into my home. Here I seek out landfill-bound furniture and bring it back to life with new upholstery or a coat of paint. I seek out relics that have become archaic because of our rapidly-evolving lifestyles, and give kids a quick glimpse into what life was like even a mere thirty years ago. I hope to revive an interest in these items for future generations.
If you’re down in my neck of the woods on the corner of Keystone and 2nd, stop in my mustard-colored building for a chat, or check out my blog.Nessun Record Trovato
