The history of LORELL et Cie Jewelers “The Diamond Connection” all began in New York City in 1924 when my grandfather Charlie began working as an engagement ring designer. Being an experienced machinist with a talent for designing metal molds, he established a manufacturing facility specializing in “Die Struck” Engagement Rings. He brought my father into the business who began cutting diamonds at the age of 15 while finishing school at night. In 1942, my father proudly served in the United States Air Force. After returning home from the military, he continued working in the family business to further develop and expand wholesale sales to cities across the USA. Today, the tradition lives on at The Diamond Connection. A genuine care for the people has been the cornerstone of the family business for generations. We continue guiding thousands of lovely couples in the creation of beautiful diamond rings and family heirlooms that will last for generations to come.

It all began in 1924, when my Grandfather opened an engagement ring design and manufacturing company in New York City. The family business lived on when his son (my father) began cutting diamonds at the age of 15 and eventually took over the family business once he returned home from the US Air Force after WWII.
Today, the tradition continues on at The Diamond Connection in Old Town, San Diego. Here, you will discover the same dedication to quality and to customer care that has been the cornerstone of my family business for more than three generations.
I’d like to thank my mother, Judith Lorell, for instilling in me both patience and a love for people. These qualities are what have helped me to build The Diamond Connection into the well-established business that it is today.
