Portland was dubbed “Stumptown” in the mid 1800’s after massive logging stripped the douglas fir forests around Portland leaving thousands of tree stumps behind. That lumber went on to be used to build the barns, homes, and buildings that became Portland. Now 160+ years later we are giving that very same old growth lumber new life as those structures are deconstructed and recycled. Stumptown Reclaimed handcrafts one-of-a-kind tables and other furniture from this old growth reclaimed wood. Old growth reclaimed wood provides a beauty and grain you can’t find in modern lumber. Each piece is handcrafted and made to order. Get in touch anytime to talk about what I can create for you!

Business Owner
No two of our tables are alike. We have a personal relationship with each and every piece we build. It starts with selecting the boards and beginning to mill the lumber revealing the wood’s hidden grain patterns. Then assembling the table, carefully choosing the order of the boards. We really get to the true character of the wood successively sanding it smoother and smoother and sculpting the edges. Finally hand rubbing the stain and finish. It is a 100% hands on experience that translates into a beautiful one-of-a-kind finished product.During the entire process we are constantly focused on how we can make the best possible table for the client. We want every piece to be a elicit wows and wonder from everyone who sees it.
