The first Mona Lisa Restaurant was established in 1956 in downtown San Diego by Grandfather Stefano Brunetto. Since then, Mona Lisa has become an institution for Italian food and culture in the Little Italy area. Stefano Brunetto, a San Diego native, was born in 1979 at mercy hospital. Stefano spent most of his childhood traveling to exotic foreign locations and developed a strong passion for cooking, language and culture. Surfing naturally became a passion for him, blending traveling and nature.
