Karl's Quality Bakery

Our bakery specializes in traditional European pastries and custom cakes for every occasion. With a wide range of goods such as doughnuts, coffeecakes, éclairs, and breads, we are able to satisfy almost any craving.

Established in 1994.
Karl Boerner moved his family to Sunnyslope Arizona in 1993. After working as a production manager for a local whole sale bakery at the time, he realized he missed producing quality over quantity. He then opened Karl’s Quality Bakery in 1994 with his incredible knowledge of his craft and the amazing support from the Sunnyslope community. In 2010 his daughter Christine, moved back from Switzerland after completing her training to continue the tradition her father had started. She brought her own flare to the business adding a chocolate line called “The Baker’s Daughter”. 2013 the old location closed and Karl’s relocated a half a mile east to the Sunnyslope Village Center.

Christine spent much of her childhood helping her father with the family business, Karl’s Bakery. After high school, Christine moved to Switzerland to attend Berufs Bildungs Zentrum Biel-Bienne. After earning many honors, she graduated with L’Art de la Patisserie in Pastries and Chocolates, an internationally known intensive certification program. She returned to Phoenix in 2010 and opened The Baker’s Daughter, a chocolate shop, next door to Karl’s Bakery. Karl’s Bakery and the Baker’s Daughter relocated in 2014 and Christine now owns and operates both shops under the name Karl’s Bakery. She is proud to carry on her father’s tradition in addition to making premier chocolates, which are her pride and joy.
