Twenty -eighty years ago Hosiery & Things opened its doors on Black Friday-the day after Thanksgiving- and as the saying goes the rest is history. Hosiery & Things is a small business that has placed a high premium on serving its customers . The owner , Pat, is frequently referred to as “The Stocking Lady” and has established a reputation in the community for proving quality products, outstanding service with the business being viewed as an asset to the community at large. Hosiery & Things has and still offers a wide selection of Berkshire Hosiery, as well as hosiery from other manufacturers, lovely handbags, jewelry, and scarves. Over the years many of Hosiery & Things customers have retired and relocated to other states but still call to place an order to have their goods shipped. It is a warm and friendly environment that has always remained committed to its community and its customers. Hosiery & Things is definitely a” destination spot”.

Like many small business owners for dozens of years Pat worked a full time job holding a senior management position in the transportation industry while running her business.In 2000 she retired and has devoted all of her time to running her business. While committed to her business she is fully committed to the community that she not only operates her business in but also the place she calls home. She has maintained a long standing relationship with the children of the community and has watched several generation of children grow into young ladies and young men who often come into her store and say ” I use to come in here with my grandmother/my mother to buy her stockings. Pat’s community has recognized her many times over as business women and as an outstanding member of the community.
