Established in 1929, Fish Furniture manufactures sofas, chairs, bedroom and dining room furniture sets, lamps and fashionable decorative pieces. It additionally offers bookshelves, mattresses, wardrobes, cabinets and computer furniture items. The company operates a service division that offers repair and general maintenance services. Fish Furniture supplies furniture items from various manufacturers, such as Flexsteel, Clayton Marcus, Hammary, Wesley Hall, Cochrane, Best Chairs, Fairfield Chair and Charleston Forge. The company offers a wide range of furniture items, such as accent benches, dining room and office furniture, barstools, casual dining chairs, cabinets, counter stools, cupboards, and dining room chairs and tables. It also offers flattop desks, home bars, kitchen work tables, storage and writing desks and pub tables. Fish Furniture maintains a location in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

The thriving retailer had its inception in 1925. Seymour and Esther Fischgrund opened a small store on Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland specializing in dinette and dining room furniture. Mr. Fischgrund would stain or paint the furniture to order while Mrs. Fish, as she was affectionately known in the trade, would decorate it or stripe the seat backs and legs to match a color in their customer’s home decor. In 1955, Al Geller, a young man who had been a salesman at the store prior to serving his country, returned, and took over running the day to day operations. In 1963, he then purchased the company from Mrs. Fish. Al along with his wife Norma Geller, who worked alongside him as the bookkeeper built up the business together. In 1971, a 3,000-square-foot second location was opened in North Olmsted. Ten years later the downtown store was relocated to Mayfield Heights.
