Black Lion Audio specializes in manufacturing and modifying hardware for recording studios and live sound applications. We make our own brand of preamps, digital converters, word clock, summing mixer and digital cables, as well as modifying existing brands of digital recording interfaces. We’ve built a reputation for providing our customers with the sort of sound quality normally found in equipment that costs substantially more than what we charge. Our work has been used for projects on major record labels, TV shows & commercials, major audio software companies, Grammy and Academy Award winning engineers, and for major studios in LA, NY and Nashville. We started Black Lion Audio to help people involved in audio engineering upgrade the sound quality of their equipment without spending a lot of money. Our focus began primarily with modifications, then broadened to include our own boutique equipment designed and built right here in Chicago. It is our vision to create an excellent product (both in design and performance) and deliver it to you at an exceptional price.
