Established in 1919.
Known originally as the Toronto Rattan Company, Barrymore got its present name in the 1930s. Formerly located in a grand old brick factory on King Street West, in 2005 Barrymore moved to 1168 Caledonia Road in the heart of Toronto’s Design and Décor District. Barrymore continues to produce outstanding custom-made upholstery available at the Barrymore Furniture Galleries as well as at select stores across Canada and the USA. Discerning customers will also see an exceptional collection of dining, bedroom, and living room furnishings from the finest designers and craftsmen in the world. Tom has always had a love of fine furniture, inspired and nurtured from his youth by his mother’s great taste. He started woodworking as a hobby and built beautiful American reproduction furniture. The opportunity to use his extensive knowledge and skills came when he moved from a career in academia to furniture company owner in the 1980s.
