Service, Storytelling, and Smiles – As Austin’s original dedicated cheese shop, Antonelli’s offers cut-to-order service so you get artisan goods at their best, the way the maker would want. Cheese should be fun, not pretentious, and we aim to make it that way while living our mission: Do Good. Eat Good. We focus on American artisans, as well as imported specialty food producers, that make their goods in a way that’s great for the earth, their animals, their teams, and delicious for us. Antonelli’s Cheese opened in February of 2010 by husband and wife team John and Kendall Antonelli, after a honeymoon decision to quit their jobs and “do something in cheese.” Today, the business includes a retail shop providing cut-to-order service of cheese and cured meats, as well as other artisanal goods – from honey to preserves to olives, as well as beer, cider, and wine. They additionally host hundreds of cheese tasting events across the street in their Cheese House – both with a public schedule and private events. Through their wholesale warehouse, they source handmade foods for over 150+ Central Texas restaurant partners. Other offerings: monthly cheese club, cheese trays made daily (order at least a day in advance), cheese class in a box, and shipped gifts. Kendall and John Antonelli founded Antonelli’s Cheese in Austin, Texas in 2010 after a honeymoon decision to quit their jobs in search of a passion with purpose – working together to support artisanal producers and tell the story of handcrafted foods. Driven by the mission to “Do Good. Eat Good.”, their small mom and pop shop and dedicated cheesemongering team have been voted Austin Chronicle “Best Artisan Food Company” in 2013 and Edible Austin “Local Heroes” the past seven consecutive years, as well as named one of the best cheese shops in America by Travel + Leisure Magazine (2013) and The Gourmet Retailer (2017). In addition to a cut-to-order cheese and charcuterie shop in Hyde Park neighborhood, they operate an events program that hosts over 200 classes and private events per year; online web sales and shipping of gift baskets, catering trays, and a monthly cheese club; and a wholesale program selling artisanal goods to nearly 175 Central Texas chefs.
