PCH was started by three life-long friends fresh out of college with lofty goals and a plan to change how people think about food. They knew a bunch of local farmers, had 10,000 flyers, and a knack for building beautiful hand-crafted boxes. Today it’s run by a father-son duo who are friends of the original founders. You’d never think a doctor and lawyer would be so into food, but with generations of family history in Lebanese farming, it was hard to escape. Chris grew right up here in the Northwest. He got his undergraduate degree from UW and taught high school math in Detroit through Teach For America before he returned to settle roots.Farming has been in his blood countless generations back. His family was grape farmers in Lebanon and recently his dad left his medical practice and jumped full-time into tree fruit farming. Chris followed suit, leaving behind legal documents to improve the accessibility and convenience of Eating Local First!
When he used to have off-time, you could’ve found him smiling on 100-mile bike rides, monitoring his 1,000s of honeybees, or doing 10,000ft mountain climbs.
