Venissimo shares all the best cheese from all over the world, plus all the scrumptious accoutrements that go with it (charcuterie, bread, crackers, olives, honey, chocolate & more). We also have scrumptious party trays, sandwiches, grilled panini, cheese plates, a Cheese Lovers Club & more. Our Mission Hills neighborhood cheese shop is between Falcon & Goldfinch. There is a parking lot in back plus some metered street parking out front. Visit us at any one of our five neighborhood cheese shops in downtown San Diego, Mission Hills, Del Mar, North Park & Liberty Station. We also ship nationwide.

Established in 2004.
Venissimo opened its first shop here in Mission Hills, California, in 2004. Since then we have opened neighborhood cheese shops with all the best cheese from all over the world in Del Mar, North Park, Liberty Station & downtown San Diego. Join our monthly Cheese Lovers Club or ship your favorites anywhere in the USA. We also teach cheese classes through our Academy of Cheese (AoC).

Gina always wanted to start her own business, but wasn’t sure what. Following the saying to “do what you love,” she decided on cheese. Her vision is to do for cheese what Starbucks did for coffee – soon the camembert will be as well-known as cappuccino.

Gina has shared more than 2000 domestic & international cheeses with her guests. And yes, she has tasted all of them. She can tell you the type of milk, country of origin, production methods, and perfect wine & food pairings for each one.

Over the years while visiting cheesemakers around the world in her quest for the worthy title of “Cheese Wiz,” she learned about the elegant simplicity of cheese. Nothing is more simple, elegant & comforting than cheese.

Gina is a member of the American Cheese Society and teaches classes all over San Diego. She has written articles for various trade publications and is working on a fun & cheesy television program.
