And with 3D imagining, we design and create your crown or implant while you wait. Total Health specializes in Invisalign, an orthodontic system that uses clear medical grade plastic aligners to gently guide the teeth into the correct position, replacing traditional metal braces. Established in 2006.
Dr. H. opened his first Total Health Dental Care in Oakland because he wanted a practice in a neighborhood with strong community ties. As Total Health grew, Dr. H. never wavered from his vision: optimal oral health through state-of-the-art technology, a world-class team and herbal medicine. Total Health is more than dentistry – we offer massage, acupuncture, nutrition counseling and a lending library with titles on health and happiness. We are a community in which the patients, doctors and staff form lasting partnerships. Today, Total Health has eight offices throughout Oakland, Berkeley and Emeryville – although we are growing, we never want to stop being your neighborhood dentist. 60 years ago, Weston Price traveled the globe documenting the connection between healthy bodies and mouths. Around the planet Price found that people and cultures with excellent oral health and beautiful smiles were practically free of bodily disease. That is the heart of Total Health Dental Care.

Dr. Hokmabadi grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley and observed firsthand the developing communities of technology and entrepreneurism – surrounded by innovative and creative thinkers who changed the customer experience.
Like many of these visionaries, Dr. H. was inspired to enhance the patient experience by creating a different kind of dental practice combining modern technology, clinical knowledge and holistic healing.
Dr. H studied at the University of California at Davis before graduating from dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Upon completing his advanced degree and honing his clinical skills, he started his first dental practice in 2006 in Oakland.
Dr. H. created a unique model of dentistry which strives to democratize topnotch care by utilizing the latest technology and an outstanding team of hygienists, doctors and specialists.
