Keani Hawai’i started exclusively as an online jewelry boutique in 2011, featuring designs by owner, Keani Le’a Barnes, who was born on the island of Hawai’i and raised on Maui. She began as a stay-at-home mom, working at night with a humble hobby job making handmade jewelry. Over time, she sought to design unique pieces that differentiated her from other jewelry-makers and also highlighted her love for the ocean, for style, and for her Hawaiian roots. Starting with her Mermaid Scales Line, and one collection at a time, she slowly made her mark and grew her business, primarily with the help of Instagram. Now, 9 years later, she has over 12k authentic Instagram followers (and growing!) who have enabled her to launch two retail stores/boutiques on Maui, while also continuing to sell actively online.
