Carniceria La Carreta is a full-service butcher shop with Harris Ranch Beef, poultry, fish, and much more. We pride our self in carrying affordable, high quality, and only the freshest meats money can buy, something that has not changed since the day we opened our doors in 1999. You can find cuts and items such as Rib-eyes, T-bones, Porterhouse Steaks, New York Steaks, Deep pits ready to be put in the oven, Prime rib roast ready to be cooked, just to name a few, as well as our famous Carne Asada and Seasoned Chicken. On Saturdays and Sundays La Carreta offers its homemade authentic menudo, chicken and pork tamales, birria de res, and champurrado. And don’t forget all of our homemade salsas, guacamole, rice, beans, chile verde, carnitas, and chicharrones made fresh every day.

The Diaz family is truly an exemplary rag to riches story. Luis, the youngest of 9 children, came from a very poor family. He was raised by his mother after the loss of his father at the tender age of six. His mother showed Luis the true value of hard work and perseverance. Maria too came from a very poor family. She was the seventh child of fourteen. At the young age of fourteen, Maria was left to tend to her seven younger siblings while her parents came to the United States to find a better life. Both Luis and Maria’s struggles at such a young age instilled good working habits and a drive to better themselves. On April 22, 1999, Carniceria La Carreta was born. In a couple of years, Carniceria La Carreta went from having one employee to having 25 employees. Luis and Maria Diaz have always made freshness, quality, and great customer service their top priority. These high standards of quality and service and a strong work ethic have been the keys to the store’s success.
