Christy has created cakes literally all her life, starting as a small child helping her mother in the kitchen. She loved pouring her heart & soul into a work of art for her family & friends, giving the gift of her time & talent. Over the years, many had encouraged her to go for it & create a business, but she was involved in pursuing other interests. Then along came Facebook. She posted a cake that she made her niece for fun, & suddenly orders started pouring in from everywhere! So she decided to finally go for it, & has never looked back. Cakes are her artistic passion, from creating custom flavor combinations to sculpting amazing works of art. She was enjoying a thriving business in South Carolina. Then her husband, Michael, was offered a tremendous job opportunity in Austin, TX that he just couldn’t turn down. So Christy packed up her cake tools & headed to Austin in April of 2014. And now she’s rocking Austin!

Christy is a lifelong athlete who has always LOVED to eat! She created her first cake at 5 years old, & discovered a passion for sugar art. She created cakes for family & friends for many years as a hobby, while pursuing other avenues, always wishing she could create cakes full time. Suddenly the passing of the Cottage Laws in South Carolina, where she was living at the time, enabled her to start her cake business from home, & it took off quickly from there!

When her husband was recruited to Austin & offered a dream position, she had never even been to Austin & didn’t know a soul there. But she decided that her heart truly wanted to do nothing else but the cakes, & in 2014, she launched Cakes ROCK! literally from Ground Zero in Austin. By 2017 she had won Best Desserts & Austin’s Favorite Cake Artist. Christy & Michael live in Austin with their 2 precious cats Rocky & Eowyn. She loves powerlifting, bodybuilding, travel, boating, & music.
