We opened our door in May of 2005. We are a locally owned pet store in Ankeny and love it here. When we opened we had two cats and two chocolate labs, Sadie and Sophie. We love our furry kids. Sophie passed in 2012 and Sadie in 2013. So we have a new mascot Divot. She has taken over duties of being the chief taste tester and official greeter. I am the owner of Brown Dog Bakery along with my husband Jeff. We moved to Ankeny in December of 1999. I went to Ball State University for Graphic Design and my husband Jeff went to Western Kentucky University where he got a BS in business.I have had a diverse background in retail and advertising. I have worked opening new stores for Osco Drug Stores and worked for Gannet papers. I loved the idea of owning a pet store and we opened in 2005. It is the most rewarding job I have had yet. We both are avid golfers and I love to garden when not at work. We Love being in Ankeny Iowa and being part of such a thriving community.
