Our specialties include custom designed fashion and engagement/wedding jewelry, jewelry repair, watch repair and watch batteries, custom engraving, appraisals, consignment and estate jewelry, local and internationally acclaimed designer jewelry and fine arts.

Established in 1992.
We started in Ankeny, IA and served as one of the leading independent jewelry retailers, designers, and repair service shops in town for 17 years. We then moved our location to the East Village area in downtown Des Moines, where we have shifted our focus slightly towards our own design work and the fine arts and jewelry designs of other local and internationally acclaimed artisans. Alan Yegge is a GIA certified gemologist and diamond expert, licensed jewelery appraiser, and Gem City College graduate watchmaker and goldsmith. Alan founded Artisan’s as a family owned business and has kept a solid reputation for over 21 years as a skilled craftsman and award-winning designer.

Alan is a professionally trained goldsmith, silversmith, gemologist, diamond expert and jewelry designer with over 35 years of experience. Alan opened Artisan’s over 23 years ago, as a means to celebrate the work of artists in jewelry and other mediums whom he found inspiring, to cultivate his skill and passion for jewelry design, and provide a level of expertise and craftsmanship others can rely on. He’s an enthusiast of metal arts, watch and clock-making, historical architectural design and history in general.
