Charlotte Running Co. isn’t just a store, it’s a community of people who love spreading their passion for running. Our inventory features premier shoes and running gear to help maximize your performance. We use advanced technology to find out what’s best for you based on your gait so you can put your best foot forward in your marathon training. In addition to that, we also host events and runs in the community. Oh, and did we mention that you can grab a beer on tap while you shop? Charlotte Running Co., Inc. was started in August of 2000 by two former World Class Distance runners Scott Dvorak and Eric Hichman. The first store was originally located at 1900 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC. Eric Hichman departed the business in 2003. The store moved to it present location at 1412 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC in 2005. In April of 2006 a second location was opened in South Charlotte at 5355 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte, NC. In it’s first 10 years, the Charlotte Running Co. has become on of the must successful and renowned running specialty stores in the South. A third location is opening in Mooresville, NC this Fall. In addition to the stores, CRC is also responsible for several road race events in and around Charlotte including the Charlotte Turkey Trot and the Charlotte Racefest Half Marathon & 10K.

Scott has been involved in running for most his life. He started when he was 14, and developed from being a better than average high school runner out of Orange Park, FL, to one of the best in the nation in the 1990’s. He competed collegiately for Brevard College, and for North Carolina State University. He was a member of the 1987 NJCAA National Champion Cross Country Team, and was a two time All-American, and All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team Member. He holds the North Carolina State Road Running Records for 5K and 15K. In 1996 Scott qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials with a 5000m track personal record of 13:42. In 1997 Scott won the Antarctica Marathon in a record time of 2:23:11.

Although his competitive days are behind him, Scott still enjoys getting out and running a few days a week, and working the store. There he can put his exstensive knowledge in the sport of running to good use, helping the Charlotte Running community go farther and faster.
