We carry over 400 types of cheeses making it the largest selection of Wisconsin cheeses offered in the state. Last year we built on a café offering a compete breakfast, lunch, and coffee menu. All of our food is made from scratch using the best Wisconsin made products. Breakfast is served all day and the deli sandwiches are the best in the city made to order. Our soups are made daily from scratch and our Bloody Mary’s are topped of with a grilled cheese, beef stick, bacon, and string cheese. West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe has been a specialty cheese store from the beginning. Merkts spread cheese was original produced at this location. Over the years ownership has changed and we were the third family to purchase the business in March 2002 after the previous owners closed the shop in December of 2001 due to illness. In short I needed my cheese fix and the store had to be reopened so we jumped in head first. Since than we have expanded our cheese offering making it the largest Wisconsin cheese selection in the state and have been selected best cheese shop 8 years in a row. In 2005 we built our second location inside the Milwaukee Public Market too include a full service deli and sandwich menu. In 2014 we built a café onto our original location at West Allis and serve breakfast and deli sandwiches all day. In late 2014 we launched our corporate catering service.

Born and raised in West Allis, Married to my business and life partner Linda Lutz (co-owner) for the past 30 years. We have four great kids. Zachary our oldest is a graduate engineer from MSOE, Emily is our second and is a very talented hair stylist, Hannah graduated in finance from UWM and joined the family business and our youngest Abigail will be graduating from UW Madison this spring.

Has for myself I am a graduate Mechanical Engineer from MSOE and worked in industry for 30 years, and Linda my wife was a Dental Hygienist before we threw it all away to become official cheese heads and never looked back.
