Seattle Mattress Company is a proud part of family owned and operated, Canvas Supply Company. Serving Seattle since 1882, way back when the family owned the current Ferry Terminal downtown and a huge mercantile store that specializes in the same things they still specialize in today: custom accessories for marine vessels. Canvas Supply Company manufactures our SMC brand mattresses and is also located in Ballard. As the story goes, because of the constant requests by their marine customers to make beds & mattresses for their homes; Canvas Supply Company decided to open up a showroom to showcase their products. Through the years, we’ve added other locally produced national brands like Serta & Therapedic in order to give our customers a more diverse & comprehensive selection. And while we do carry a selection of non-locally produced organic mattresses, they do fulfill a local demand by our customers to carry more healthy, environmentally-friendly options.
