Sam Levitz Furniture was established in Tucson in 1953. As the market for televisions grew, so did the impact of the store. Over the years the company moved into appliances and gradually, furniture and bedding. The South store was built as the main Sam Levitz store in 1975. The store was attached to the original warehouse to make it convenient for customers to see and purchase furniture quickly and easily. Though the Sam Levitz organization has grown to four stores, the South store still carries a full line of furniture and bedding.
