Gourmet Butcher Block is a family-owned cajun specialty meat market. We are Home of the « All-Madden Turducken » , which was endorsed by John Madden. We specialize in de-boning & stuffing chickens, turkeys & a variety of beef , pork & duck. We sell Turduckens, Shrimp dressing, Stuffed Pork Chops, Boudin, Stuffed Quail, Fresh Chicken Sausage, Stuffed Duck, Stuffed beef & pork roast, Andoullie, De-boned stuffed chicken with crawfish dressing, Chicken & Beef Ka-bobs, Crawfish & corn soup, Pork ribs, & Filet mignon and Rib-eyes. We also have a variety of seafood items. We sell stuffed crabs, stuffed shrimp, stuffed jalapenos, crabmeat augratin, crawfish pies, & stuffed bellpeppers. All of products are made from scratch & prepared for our customers ease to cook . Most all of the products have a basic baking instruction. We strive to give our customers great service, & quality products.

Established in 1994.
Gourmet Butcher Block was created because of a man’s desire to own his own business. A business that the consumers would appreciate. One of the owners, Glenn Mistich, worked @ Hebert Specialty Meats in Maurice for 6 years. Then, Glenn & his wife, Leah, decided to open their own meat market. After only 3 months of being opened, Frank Davis, a local T. V. personality, featured the two of them on « Naturally New Orleans » . The exposure was phenomenal. Fortunately, because the product was awesome, the business was an overnight success. Sales have progressively risen since. In 1997, once again, with the help & endorsement of a local radio announcer, Bob Delgerno, the two , along with their children were able to meet John Madden @ the Saint’s v/s Ram’s game in the Superdome, and introduce him to the Turducken. John Madden instantly endorsed the business. Gourmet Butcher Block has recently moved their location to 2144 Belle Chasse Hwy, Gretna, LA, 70056.

Glenn and Leah Mistich own the Gourmet Butcher Block. Glenn is a butcher and chef. He is in charge of the meats , & making sure everything cooked is up to quality standards. Leah also cooks, & is in charge of the front workers , and keeping the customers happy. The both of them are excited to work every day. The children work in the business for the Holiday season.
