After a 17 year career as a Furniture manufacturer Crazy Bernie opened his first retail furniture store in the current location of « Crazy Bernie » in late 2002. Having served the people of Central California for almost a decade as World Furniture Direct, in early 2011 he closed down World Furniture and re-opened as « Crazy Bernie » with a new focus on Closeouts, Overstock, and Clearance furniture items. He personally makes weekly trips to pick up furniture deals where he buys perfectly good brand new furniture for up to 80% off the regular wholesale prices paid by his competitors. This business model has set him light years apart from other 120 stores that sell furniture in the city of Fresno. Business has sky-rocketed since Crazy Bernie opened and his customers come to his store in Fresno from all over the state. He even has shipped furniture to as far away as Boston, Massachusetts to fulfill orders on his web-site.

Crazy Bernie was born in New Jersey and grew up learning a strong work ethic. A love for wood working at the age of 14 led to his building a workshop in his basement where he was producing things like Roll top desks and turned high chairs by age 15. He spent most of his day in woodshop throughout high school and moved to Fresno California as soon as he could afford to buy a plane ticket. Soon after landing in Fresno Bernie worked at a small furniture mfg that closed soon after. He opened his own furniture making business in a 3 car garage with his Brother and it grew to over 260 employees and was sold. After a 5 year retirement he decided to open a retail furniture store and called it World Furniture Direct. After 8 years he decided to have more fun in business and put his personality to work as « Crazy Bernie » the Closeout, Overstock and Clearance King. His life spent in the furniture business has led to this ground breaking way of buying furnishings for your home.
