Aggie's Bakery and Cake Shop

Established in 1977.

Filippo and Nina Bongiorno emigrated from Palermo, Sicily to Detroit, Michigan in 1953. Two years later their 3rd child, Aggie, was born. The Bongiornos opened a family-owned bakery in 1977 using recipes passed through generations & the bakery flourished. In 2018, after years of hard work & dedication, Aggie was ready to retire and she and her kids, Ashley and Adam, were looking for the perfect family to take over the beloved business. In March of 2019, they found that in Rachel Schmidbauer. Rachel, & her family, owned Baked Custom Desserts and were looking for a place to expand their growing business. It was a perfect match and in March of 2019 Rachel combined the two business under Aggie’s Bakery. Today, Rachel and her family are surrounded by a growing staff of talented people who share their vision for creating the finest quality baked goods & who honor the amazing legacy that Aggie, and her family, built.
