It all began over 100 years ago, when a young immigrant named Charles Tivol opened our first store in downtown Kansas City. Thanks to his high standards of craftmanship, style and service along with his impeccable business ethics, TIVOL quickly became part of the fabric of everyday life in Kansas City. Clearly, his passion for the business rubbed off – first when his son Harold began working at TIVOL more than 63 years ago, and 32 years later when his grand-daughter Cathy took up the challenge. Now, as we have surpassed the 100 year mark, TIVOL is still going strong, maintaing our tradition of offering the world’s most beautiful jewelry and timepieces at a variety of price points.

Cathy Tivol is the CEO of TIVOL, Kansas City’s premier and oldest luxury jeweler. Her role in the company is to help select the jewelry styles and designers that TIVOL carries, as well as to oversee its business strategies.

During high school and summer breaks from college, Cathy worked part time for her family’s company where her duties included stocking shelves, cleaning cases and filing paperwork. After receiving her bachelor’s degree she joined the family business full time, thus beginning a 38-year career. In 2005, Cathy became the third generation CEO of TIVOL, following in the footsteps of her father and industry icon, Harold Tivol, and her grandfather, Charles Tivol, who began the company in downtown Kansas City in 1910.
