During the many months Florent de Felcourt served as a military attaché in Washington, he noticed something was missing, something he’d taken for granted in his daily life in Europe. He could not find anything that came close to his old neighborhood bakeries and cafes. Yes, DC was a beautiful city, steeped in power, with bustling suburbs and interesting people, but Florent craved a bakery with character–a convenient place where (like many other fast-paced Washingtonians), he could drop in and be served high-quality food, quickly. He missed the mouth-watering baked goods and specialties prepared by expert bakers and chefs back home. Sensing a market need, ultimately, he developed the Fresh Baguette concept. With the opening of the first Fresh Baguette location in Bethesda, MD, Florent is redefining food service. Providing fresh, upscale food to a time-pressed marketplace, Fresh Baguette is introducing Florent’s clearly modern twist on the age-old, European bakery experience to the DC
