Derco Fine Jewelers was founded in 1939 by Krikor (Koko) Der Abrahamian, who specialized in trading diamonds and colored gemstones. The Der Abrahamian family moved to San Francisco in 1979, opening a showroom in the GiftCenter at 888 Brannan in 1983. Today, brothers Jack and Ohan Der Abrahamian manage the wholesale and manufacturing business.

When I was 8 years old, my grandfather decided to take me to work with him. He handed me some diamonds and sapphires to clean. It was at this moment that I knew and wanted to become a jeweler just like him.
Many years later when i was old enough I went to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to become a gemologist. One very important quote that I learned there and kept with me after graduating from GIA is that the journey to education and knowledge never stops. That’s why we make it our priority at Derco to always be up to date about diamonds, gems,designs, and production methods.
