Established in 1997 After working along side his father, who was also a bench jeweler, and then for years apprenticing under some other very talented craftsmen, Calvin Smith decided to take his trade to the next level and open his own store. Calvin’s Fine Jewelry opened its doors in 1997 on Far West Boulevard in a quiet neighborhood in Austin. The past 12 years have been a wonderful growing and learning experience both as an owner and craftsman. Now, with over 30 years under his belt, Calvin is still enjoying the everyday challenges this exciting trade has to offer. Calvin’s Fine Jewelry is proud to have an experienced team of jewelry sales professionals, including a GIA graduate gemologist, on staff. «Our Family Tradition, Your Family Legacy.» CALVIN’S was a Texas tradition long before the family-run establishment opened its doors in 1997. The founder, Calvin Smith, inherited his unique skill set from his father, a seasoned bench jeweler, while growing up in Central Texas. Later, Calvin honed his abilities while apprenticing under other talented Lone Star craftsmen. It was only after moving to Austin, Texas that he started the business of his own namesake. Today, Calvin, his wife, Jackie and youngest son, Calvin Jr. still proudly create beautiful, custom jewelry beloved the world-over. Not too far from downtown Austin, this family-run, local jewelry atelier is located on Far West Boulevard in the heart of Northwest Hills.
